RYLA Meeting

Last night was the first planning meeting for Ryla at the Boxborough Holiday Inn. Dave had a great meeting and the group filled the room. A very welcome Ryla graduate attended and it showed just how valuable this event is. He contributed more to the conversation than many of the regular members.
The importance of deadlines was discussed. My club lost out on two opportunities for sending students to this great event last year because we missed a deadline. Without deadlines, no one would know how many people will be showing up and planning could never be as detailed and good as it is now. We'll do better this year Dave!
A need of Rotarian teachers to help out on the Ryla weekend was also discussed. VOLUNTEERS contact Dave or Pat Doyle. Both of them are working on the "train the trainers" segment.
If you have never seen this event, be sure and stop by on June 26, 27, or 28.
Keep up the good work Ryla committee!

February 23 is a special day

I no sooner signed off two days ago and realized the significance of February 23rd. It was Feb 23, 2005 while I was president of the AB Rotary Club that we had a multi club dinner to celebrate 100 years of Rotary. What a great event.
Next year it will be 105 years. I will try and think of something special to do for that great day: Feb 23, 2010. Should you have a suggestion, please e-mail me.

2nd ANNUAL PR EXPO and DINNER

Wow!!! It is getting closer. There are going to be some great projects displayed at the event. It is Friday, March 6 at the Boxborough Holiday Inn, exit 28 off 495.
One of the best parts of this expo is that Rotarians get to share their hard work with other Rotarians. We often think that being part of a club is Rotary. There is so much more!
Clubs can share how they do their very successful projects and events so everyone can see their great accomplishments. The displays last year were awesome. You might get some new ideas for your club.
And, we have more awards to give out to clubs and Rotarians for their hard work.
A suggestion: Invite the local reporter or someone else in the media who has helped put the spotlight on your club as your club's guest. What a great way to say thank-you!
Please sign up now. We need to know you are coming so we can plan for the right amount of people.
I look forward to seeing you at the dinner.
